ABOUT

Bio

Formation

Mega Infinity are Michi (Turk) DiGiulio and Mike DiGiulio from Long Island NY. The two met while working in a grocery store. Michi’s store transferred them far from their home to Massapequa. They weren’t excited to go so far for a minimum wage job, but had a good gut feeling that it would be the right move for them as a musician.

The day Michi first spoke to Mike at work, they noticed Mike was wearing a Streetlight Manifesto shirt so they told him they liked it. They had a lot in common. They each played music in a band and loved going to shows. At that time, Mike played in a metal band and Michi played in a pop punk band. That year Mike took Michi to Warped Tour where they saw Streetlight Manifesto together and made it official they were dating.

In 2014, Michi formed this band with Mike’s friend Andrew. For many years, the band was named Megaweapon. Together they had a lot of similar influences such as Weezer, RX Bandits, and Kate Nash. The band put out two EPs and played events such as the TCS NYC Marathon, Staten Island Pride and more. Andrew decided to move on and Mike stepped in as the bands guitarist and main songwriter. With that the band’s sound took a turn towards heavier riffs and the inclusion of more electronic elements mixed in, drawing influences from Paramore, Coheed and Cambria, and Enter Shikari

Megawednesday

Not much longer after this, the coronavirus pandemic happened so Mike and Michi were stuck in their house and started writing a lot of songs together while also hosting a weekly livestream on Twitch called Megawednesday. They would bring on musicians to interview and perform. One of the more notable moments on their livestream was when Mike proposed to Michi.

The Megawednesday livestream led them to meeting a lot of different bands from all over the world they wouldn’t have had the chance to meet or work with otherwise, including Eichlers, Flying Raccoon Suit, Tape Girl, and so many more who influenced them to take a lot of chances with their music.

Rainbow Heartache and Chaos Magick

All of this inspired them to blend genres and styles that normally wouldn’t be expected, with elements of indie, emo, pop, hip-hop, ska, and progressive rock. Mega Infinity strive to take risks musically while always having a clear lyrical messaged that ties together through themes of perseverance, standing up for what you believe in and love for their fans who they call the Megababes.

Their debut album Rainbow Heartache came out in December 2021. The couple was married in 2022 and shortly after renamed the band to Mega Infinity. Around this time, they played for the first time in Texas for SPI Fest and were inspired to get back into the studio shortly after. Their new EP ‘Chaos Magick’ is releasing on Ska Punk International Records, October 10, 2023.Bio
